Born in 1954, studied at the "Instituto d'Arte per la Ceramica" in Faenza, Italy from 1978 to 1981. After the completion of his studies, Vassos returns to Cyprus and creates his own ceramics workshop in Larnaca. Initially he is using the Raku technique. In order to achieve the best results he is involved in research and experimentation with various clay-bodies, glazes, kilns and reduction techniques. At the same time he is working using stoneware, doing research in both technological and visual aspects. He is also experimenting with luster glazes and paper clay. His work-pieces are all handmade, either wheel-thrown or hand-built. Being always professional and faithful to the contemporary ceramics principles, he has participated in many exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad and in some occasions has been awarded a prize. He has also organized many workshops and Raku shows.
