Visual Artist – Ceramist

Andriana began her artistic career in the field of painting, mainly in acrylics and oil, experimenting with many different mediums including engraving/printmaking and mosaics. Nowadays she is mostly involved in ceramics.

She started working with clay in 2015 when she enrolled to various ceramics classes and it was then that decided to make clay her life.

The main sources of her inspiration are the vessels from archaeological collections and memories of places and people, giving a contemporary aesthetic in her artwork.  She is currently concentrate on creating both functional and decorative ceramics ranging from vases and wall installations, to small earrings and pendants.  She uses earthenware clay, fired in 1040°C and stoneware fired in 1230°C.  Her process involves the techniques of hand building by pinching, coiling and slab building.

Andriana was born in Karavas-Keryneia and now lives and works in Limassol.  Her studio is located at Potamos Germasogeias in Limassol where she also exhibits her ceramic and other artwork.

Her work can be seen in public and private collections in United Kingdom, USA, Greece and Cyprus.  She studied in Greece, BA Hons Fine Art and New Media, Middlesex University London (AKTO College) and in Cyprus, AA Fine Arts, SUNY Empire State College of New York (Frederick University).

She participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in painting, printmaking, mosaics and ceramics.
